Barcelona Brunch Guide

Brunch may not be the first meal that comes to mind when you think of Barcelona’s renowned food scene, but don’t let that fool you. The city has truly woken up to breakfast and brunch, with an array of excellent bakeries and brunch spots flourishing across the city. Whether you’re looking for a traditional Spanish breakfast, a light healthy start to the day, or a blowout brunch feast, this city has you covered. Below are some of Barcelona’s must try spots for breakfast and brunch lovers:

Federal Cafe

With three locations across the city, Federal Cafe is an Australian-style cafe that is a firm favourite among Barcelona locals and visitors. Federal serves up a breakfast, brunch and lunch menu with a focus on fresh, organic ingredients. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from lighter dishes like chia pudding and acai bowls to heartier options like the full “Federal Breakfast” with eggs, bacon, and toasted sourdough bread. The coffee here is excellent (hence you’ll find it, among others, in my Barcelona Coffee Guide), and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
